I don’t normally think of modern fireplaces as things of beauty. I think of utilitarian structures that offer little in the way of style to add to today’s well designed homes. But French company Bordelet is out to change that popular misconception. They have an incredible variety of options, and the result is a family of fireplaces that look nothing like those you’ve seen before.
Whether you need something for the wall, a corner or - more dramatic yet - the center of the room, they have a sophisticated solution waiting for you. What’s really nice about these interesting pieces is that they come in a fairly wide range of styles. You can go way out wild and have a zebra striped fireplace (no kidding) or go for more of that sleek Gordon Gekko look that will be the envy of all your friends. There are even one or two versions that pivot and/or rotate 360 degrees - giving you a serious conversation piece when guests come over. Talk about variety.
