The Chill 35 Chaise Lounge

Chill 35 Chaise Lounge. Manufactured by Landscape Form.

My idea of exploring the Great Outdoors is basking in the splendid summer sun, reading the latest bestseller and sipping a Mojito.  In retrospect, the most imperative ingredient to attain this state of Nirvana isn’t the Rum (though that helps a lot) but to get your hands on that elusive chaise which takes off the weight of the world from your shoulders and gives that much necessitated illusion of the idyllic existence. The Chill 35 by Landscape Form looks capable enough to do this.

According to Landscape Forms, Chill 35  is “a chaise lounge for commercial outdoor environments, celebrates the spirit of the collection and introduces a welcome, relaxed posture into the public sphere.” This Chill 35 may not reach the highest echelon of design, but it does slant towards perfection. The lounge has been ergonomically designed and according to the manufacturers website it “echoes the human body”.  The chaise flawlessly transgresses the traditional design boundaries and  yet still comes across as a spectacularly purposeful and practical object.

A strong sculptural identity, smooth yet curvy lines and an effervescent color palette seem to characterize the Chill 35. This polyethylene chaise is available in a plethora of colors so if you prefer brooding blacks over brilliant blues or a pulsating “Melon” over a mysterious shade of “Otter”, no worries. The Chill measures 32” h x 62” l x 28” w and can also endure the wrath of Mother Nature as it is UV and weather resistance.

Occasionally manufacturers in the name of “creativity” have shown a predilection towards thrusting uncomfortable or bewildering design concepts on unsuspecting consumers. Fortunately the Chill doesn’t suffer from the same fate and meshes the company’s creative impulses perfectly with good old common sense. The Chill is all about relaxation and can complement any outdoor space, be it your backyard or the hot new swanky club in your neighborhood.

Tanya Palta recently completed her degree majoring in History. After trying to come up with a gazillion excuses to avoid work in the corporate world, she decided she might as well do something she loves. Hence, she dabbled in photography and also became a freelance writer. She has always been creatively inclined (so she says), and in particular, the contemporary design scene is of great interest for her.

What do you think these weigh? They look light enough to toss into the pool and enjoy a good float…
