The Struttura Coffee Table by May, a Brooklyn-based design studio, isn’t you’re typical piece of furniture. Made of compressed hardwood, a signature material created by Travis James, the company’s founder, it is a sustainable option for any interior.

To make the table, designers use a blend of woods from fast-growth trees, such as birch, pine, cedar, poplar, and maple. The result is a coffee table that resembles stone but has the warm patina and matte finish of wood.

Not only does using fast-growth trees take some of the strain off of forests, but it also supports forest growth.
