Salone 2025: Golden Pear

Like some strange and beautiful gold-plated pod from worlds unknown, Charlotte Chesnais’ Carousel defies explanation and beckons exploration.

Upon opening this glimmering agglomeration of gold and chrome, users will find a 24-piece cutlery set in silver and two-toned 18-karat gold and silver, the result of a Salone collaboration between the famed jewelry designer and French brand Christofle, known for their luxury silverware sets.

This is a case in which the case rivals the contents for sculptural allure and aesthetic appeal. But the outer egg doesn’t quite steal the show: the flatware, which gleams like silken rivers of molten metal, is practically jewelry in its own right, with the tactile flourish of an hourglass-shaped perforation on the forks and spoons—a compelling feature that also enables the flawless organization.
