Salone 2025: Jardines Celebrates Brazilian Botanical

The Jardines collection of hand-knotted rugs and chaquira embroidery translates the work of Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx into tropical textiles. Shown at Brera Design District, Jardines by Balcameda Studio debuted at Salone 2025.

Depicting the lush flora of tropical locales, this textile collection “captures the organic rhythms and fluid geometries of tropical flora, reinterpreted through exquisite craftsmanship and innovative techniques,” writes Balcameda Studio.

Of the six area rugs, five are rectangular and one is round.

A combination of wool, hemp, and silk make up the textiles, which are hand-knotted in Nepal.

All the designs recall the dynamism and fluidity of Burle Marx’s landscape plans—plans so full of geometric and organic bursts of color that they are pieces of art in and of themselves.

During Salone 2025, Jardines was shown in conjunction with blown glass vessels “whose fluid, sculptural forms echo the movement of water and the lush vitality of botanical life.”
