Like a creative conveyor or a compass for constellations, Lodes’ MAP unveils itself, unfurling from point to point while sketching out new configurations in illumination.

This modular lighting system, designed by Geckeler Michels and recently on exhibit at Euroluce, beckons with a vast compositional palette: lighting modules are simply positioned on the ceiling and then linked, connect-the-dots style, via a fabric tape, the system’s pulsing lifeblood that sends power throughout the array.

Not to wax too nostalgic, but MAP reminds me of George Bush (the 1st), who characterized how the whole may exceed the sum of its parts by referring to a network of “a thousand points of light.”

Lodes’ light points are available in three finishes (black, brown, champagne), various optics, and multiple lens widths—for casting a wide net of light on ceilings and walls, weaving in and out of the Pointillist map that’s constrained only by your imagination.
