Faux-fox is in fashion at NYCxDesign with Cassie Siyi Liu’s The Nine-tail.

A fabulous flourish of fabric that draws on the Chinese Legend of the Nine-Tailed Fox, mischievous creatures who may transform into beautiful men or women. Nine-Tailed Foxes symbolize craft, cunning, and resilience.

Just so, Siyi Liu’s garment is a versatile, gender-less piece that toes the line between hippy chic and the esteemed gowns of futuristic clergy.

The nine tails enable draping, wrapping, and clever concealment. The images above show it morphed into pants, blouse, pantsuit, and gown.
