Designer Jean-Marie Massaud found it vital to be earnest about his new sofa collection for Poliform. “With Ernest, Jean-Marie Massaud tackles the theme of comfort in a radical way,” the company writes.

The radical part? Admitting we want big bold soft sumptuous sofas! And Ernest handles comfort through its monolithic organic forms.

Elements of Ernest include back and seat cushions that resemble river stones or bones. The elongated shapes are filled with down to provide major comfort. Optional armrests look like little presents perched on the edge of the grandiose sofa collection.

Big or small, straight or L-shaped, Ernest makes lazy lounging look oh-so-good. It’s Italian, it’s tailored, it’s masterful—and yet it’s unabashedly about ease.
