Futuristic Form: GUBI x Pierre Paulin
After successfully relaunching a previous piece created by French furniture designer Pierre Paulin (see Pacha), GUBI is giving new life to the F300 chair. The GUBI x Pierre Paulin collaboration restores this iconic lounge chair—with a few eco-conscious material upgrades.

Made of fiberglass or injected polyurethane, the original F300 was released in the late 1960s. The 2025 version looks toward our planetary future: “It is now crafted in Italy from the engineered polymer HiREK, which is made using industrial plastic waste,” GUBI explains.

The new shell material combines lots of 21st-century benefits: it’s lightweight and UV-, weather-, and pressure-resistant.

Playful and futuristic, F300 made its way into the MoMA’s permanent collection.

The new F300 comes in leather, suede, and multiple upholstery options, including the supremely touchable Alpaca Alto in Koala and the sexy Alouette in Vermilion.

Before ergonomic design really hit the family home, Pierre Paulin envisioned a lounge chair—for actual lounging. Users can sit in multiple positions, including the standard or with legs slung over the chair’s side.
