Simple cylindrical lengths of Teak wood make a handsome low platform and the perfect perch for cushions as thick and soft as bread dough on the rise.

This is Sticks Platform, Sofa with Chaise Lounge—our first product as we head into June, which we’ll informally refer to as NeoCon month.

Denmark-based manufacturer Cane-line has composed Sticks with comfort and ease in mind. The relatively compact ensemble fits smaller spaces yet still allows complete bodily repose: “The perfect spot for casual lounging, whether relaxing solo or sharing quiet moments with a loved one.”

The Sticks of Sticks recall the bare-bones ingenuity of woven thatch, but this platform is comprised of infinitely durable Teak wood, which begins a golden brown lovely as a Chicago sunrise but ages to a dark gray patina with time (as lovely as a stormy Chicago sky). Users may preserve the original color with Cane-line Teak care products.

Other perks include the Cane-line quick dry and airflow system, which minimizes contact between elements and thus facilitates rapid drying. The platform’s modular design also accommodates add-ons like table tops and storage boxes.
