Form-driven Lighting Spins Into Orbit

Form-driven Lighting Spins Into Orbit

The circle gets an ethereal upgrade with the Helios LT, a sculptural light fixture from Gaspare Asaro that feels both otherworldly and exactingly refined. A modern reimagining by Vittorio Asaro—son of the studio’s founder—this updated take on the original Helios 66 and 44 trades bulky hardware and mirrored elements for a lighter, more atmospheric composition.

Each module floats like a celestial body. The circular housings vary in size and depth, creating subtle rhythms of light and shadow. Handblown Murano glass diffusers give the piece its glow, while the aluminum bases keep things grounded. The standard configuration leans radial, but designers can easily customize layout, color, finish, and even form—oval and elongated versions are available.

What sets the Helios LT apart isn’t just its play of geometry or glow. It’s the precision of its craft. Designed in CAD, modeled in 3D, and handcrafted in Italy by a small network of artisans, this fixture speaks to a different kind of production ethos—one where analog skill still matters, and where customization doesn’t dilute quality. That rare combination of sculptural presence and specifier flexibility is what makes it more than just a pretty ceiling.
