Jewelry Meets the Jump Shot
At haricotvert, artist Kelsey Armstrong brings artful upcycling to the court with her Custom Basketball Hoop. The hoop trades nylon for cascades of glass teardrops, vintage beads, and nostalgic charms, each piece suspended in motion like jewelry midair.
It’s a playful collision of sport and sparkle. Handmade from vintage and deadstock materials, the piece turns sustainability into spectacle, showing how recycled design can be both responsible and radiant. In a female sports bar or boutique fitness club, it’s an artwork that celebrates strength and style in equal measure.
The joy of transformation links Armstrong’s work to Bethan Laura Wood, another designer who treats ornament as meaning. Both prove that beauty and reuse are not opposites but partners in invention.
