From Wall Finish to Wrist Form

From Wall Finish to Wrist Form

Tonester has built its identity on moody, emotionally charged pigment. In partnership with D1 Milano, that ethos now extends beyond interiors, emerging as a limited-edition series of monochromatic watches slated for Milan Design Week 2025.

This is less product extension, more design migration.

The four timepieces are drawn from Tonester’s Milan palette: jade green, oxblood burgundy, deep mocha, and a black warmed with umber. Each watch is fully immersed in a single hue. Case, dial, and integrated bracelet operate as one continuous field of color. The slightly domed dial introduces depth, recalling the tension and dimensionality of freshly poured paint.

D1 Milano’s industrial clarity keeps the concept disciplined. The angular case geometry and streamlined profile read architectural rather than ornamental. Gold-toned hands and crown provide measured contrast, preventing the monochrome from feeling flat. The result is precise, graphic, and controlled.

What makes these monochromatic watches compelling is their restraint. They do not rely on pattern or embellishment. Instead, they explore saturation, finish, and proportion. It is a study in how color alone can define character.

Tonester positions itself not simply as a paint brand, but as a contemporary color authority. With D1 Milano, pigment becomes portable. Quartz becomes the medium. And time, quietly, becomes the next surface.
