The Isabella Chair Wears Its Frame Like Jewelry

The Isabella Chair Wears Its Frame Like Jewelry

A study in opposites, the Isabella Chair by Simon James for Resident brings a refined take on lounge seating, pairing a pencil-thin steel frame with a cushion that practically sighs when you sit down.

Three slim legs hold the whole thing aloft. The backrest curves like a loose embrace. Below it, a plump seat lands with quiet confidence.

Hard meets soft. Spare meets indulgent. The contrast is the whole point.

Picture it in a boutique hotel lobby, anchoring a corner near the concierge. Or paired in the waiting area of a design-forward firm, where conversations linger. In velvet, it reads cinematic. In linen, gallery-cool.

Designers drawn to the leaner geometry of the Volley Chair will recognize the same disciplined hand here, dialed toward comfort.

Released in 2018 and still earning her spot in the spec sheet.
