Kirk doesn’t look like a sofa bed. Karim Rashid designed this convertible for Milano Bedding with full, curved volumes that hold their shape like a proper lounge sofa, not a folded-up compromise. That is the whole trick.

By day, it reads as a low, generous seat. Cream upholstery, rounded arms, a quiet line of contrast piping along the edge. Nothing announces the bed waiting inside.

The clever part is the direction. Kirk’s Lampolet mechanism opens sideways, not forward. You sleep across the depth, head free of the backrest, on a surface that stays wide while the footprint stays tight.
