Lego just released its largest Architecture set ever: a 12,060-piece architectural scale model of the Sagrada Família, the Gaudí-designed basilica  basilica in Barcelona that spent 144 years under construction before reaching structural completion this past February.

The set is enormous. At over two feet tall, it’s the biggest Architecture set Lego has ever made. Fitting, given the real thing just topped out at 564 feet. Eighteen spires climb toward an imaginary Barcelona skyline. The sandy tan brick captures the basilica’s textured stone facades with the kind of obsessive detail that makes you want to build it slowly, in stages, like the real thing.

That slowness is part of the appeal. The overhead shot says it all: sections spread across a table like an excavation in progress, each cluster its own small architectural study. The set commemorates 100 years since Gaudí’s death, and something about building it feels like a quiet act of architectural appreciation, the kind that fits as naturally in a design studio as it does at home.

For designers drawn to Lego-inspired modularity and the language of building systems, this is a collector’s object with a clear point of view. It ships November 1st.
