Two oversized goals rise from the sand on Miami Beach, near 12th Street, their nets holding the night sky. REEFLINE staged Big Goals with the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Miami Host Committee, marking Miami’s turn as one of sixteen North American host cities. Designed by PLAYLAB, INC., the public art installation reads like a field guide to the constellations.

A dragon stretches across one net. A scorpion curls into another. Stars drift between them in pale, cyanotype blue, the figures hovering somewhere between embroidery and astronomy.

Argentine artists Jessica Trosman and Emiliano Miliyo led the handweaving, working alongside community makers to fill each net by hand. The result reinforces the collaborative nature of the public art installation, is both global in spirit and local in touch.

Underneath the spectacle sits REEFLINE’s longer project: ocean literacy, marine conservation, and a hybrid reef already growing off this same coast. Shaded cabanas and beachside seating round out the activation, a temporary hospitality footprint on open sand.

For anyone shaping public space, it is a quiet lesson in scale. Handwork at the size of architecture, holding its detail from clear across the beach. Specify the idea, not the goalposts: public art that earns attention without raising its voice.
