OLEIA Braids Its Way Outdoors

OLEIA Braids Its Way Outdoors

OLEIA starts with rope. The new woven outdoor furniture collection from Ethimo, Luca Nichetto, and studio Nichetto wraps thick, hand-woven cords into a drum-shaped frame that reads more basket than chair. The weave becomes the structure. A loose seat cushion and a slouching pillow soften what the braid builds.

The green is the giveaway. Two tones of olive, plaited close, catching light the way leaves do. It settles in against bamboo. It would look just as at home on a hotel terrace or a rooftop lounge, where furniture has to hold a room and take the weather.

Woven outdoor furniture often leans delicate. This does the opposite. The rope has heft, giving the armchair a low, grounded weight while staying light to the eye.

The collection runs deep: sofa, love seat, armchair, pouf, and a side table with a stone top. Same braid, same calm, across every piece. For more from the brand outdoors, see Escape to the Mountains with Ethimo.
