The Tidal Collection from Lodes, created in collaboration with Needs Studio, draws inspiration from the rhythm of the sea without becoming literal. The asymmetrical ring shifts in appearance as you move through a space, bringing a subtle sense of motion to modern ceiling lighting.

Inspired by the changing contours of high and low tide, the die-cast aluminum form is subtly uneven, with one side wider than the other. The effect is surprisingly dynamic. From one angle, the fixture appears almost paper-thin. From another, it takes on an entirely different presence. It’s a reminder that great design isn’t always about complexity—sometimes it’s about giving a familiar shape just enough tension to keep the eye engaged.

The light itself is equally considered. Tidal casts illumination both upward and downward, creating a soft halo that enhances architecture instead of competing with it. Whether specified for a hospitality lounge, workplace, multifamily amenity, or refined residential project, it delivers atmosphere with remarkable restraint.
