CYLINDER is the newest form from Sabin, and it is made to order in heights up to 100 inches. That range is the whole argument. The same acoustic pendant lighting works as a low disc over a café table or a tall column in a double-height lobby.

Construction is sewn, not glued. Recycled PET felt, stitched by hand and machine, with no adhesives anywhere in the assembly. The seam is structural and it is also the detail.

Acoustic performance lands at an NRC of .95. Light runs direct or indirect, downlit or fully diffused across the bottom plane, with beam spreads from 15 to 90 degrees. Or none at all. CYLINDER is available unlit.

Light by Others lets a project keep the light engine it already specified, the same logic behind a ceiling system that adapts to the lighting plan. And because the form belongs to a family of curved primitives, one cylinder can anchor a lobby or a grid of them can quiet a ballroom.

The felt absorbs. The aperture glows. Nobody has to raise their voice.
