Mix + Match Does the Palette Work for You
Luum Textiles built its Mix + Match collection from the basic grammar of upholstery: a stripe, a plaid, a texture, and heathered solids. Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas designed six fabrics that stand alone and stack together.
Lashes Out is the one hands find first. Yarns are clipped in a fil coupé weave, so every stripe ends in soft fringe. Sequence answers with a small raised motif, spun from a single tri-color yarn, that reads as texture more than pattern.
Replay is the curveball. It is a printed plaid on nonwoven, corn-based polyurethane. It upholsters easily and stands up to hospital-grade cleaners.
The rest dial down. Hive is a clean, balanced weave. Zippy has a dry, wool-like hand. Tint is brushed until it feels like flannel. Zippy and Tint also wrap walls and panels.
That range is the pitch. Fringed stripes on a lounge banquette. Sequence on the side chairs. Tint on the wall behind them. It is performance upholstery fabric that arrives pre-coordinated. For another take on contract textiles this year, see Carnegie’s Crush.
