Grant is a curved modular sofa by Massimo Castagna for Bonaldo. Look for a corner and you won’t find one.

Semicircles, half arcs, chaises, peninsulas and poufs all share the same unbroken line. Push the pieces together and the line keeps going. Pull them apart and it simply starts somewhere new.

Most sofas take their cue from a wall. Grant works from the middle of the room out. In a hotel lobby or a members’ lounge, it stops being furniture you sit on and becomes a place people drift toward. Call it circular thinking, applied to a seating plan.

From above, a long run of modules curls like a question mark that never got its dot. At eye level, it barely touches down. The metal sled base is tucked back under the upholstery, so all that soft volume seems to float.

There’s no head of the sofa. No assigned end. Just one continuous curve of modular seating and whoever ends up along it.
