Gifted with Social Graces: Hazel by HBF
Ah, we are all familiar with the dreaded guest chair—but Hazel is anything but. Designed by Alyssa Coletti for HBF, Hazel gives the guest chair some much-needed panache!

With a solid ash frame and tailored upholstery, Hazel is as changeable as the girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Single-fabric, dual-fabric, and multi-fabric options make this chair a sly chameleon. Five dynamic patterns infuse the collection with very different personalities.

In a single fabric, Hazel is ideal for attorney offices and academic libraries. The tailored and serene chair still stands out with refined details including wrapped arms and seam placement. Choose a bold bright print for dynamic work spaces like ad agencies and tech start-ups. Or choose multiple fabrics to showcase the chair’s contours.

Hazel provides “comfort-forward, enhanced ergonomics,” says HBF. Crafted in wood and available in 15 finishes, the chair supports most sitters with an upright pitch and “thoughtfully engineered proportions for extended comfort.”

Coletti wanted to highlight the library of HBF textiles while also answering the needs of people using the chair. “I imagine the experience of the individual and what would fill my emotional and physical needs in this situation or environment,” says Alyssa Coletti about her design process.
