NeoCon 2025: A More Comfortable Table
Take a tumble (while staying perfectly upright and balanced) with KFI Stuidios’ latest, a textural tour de force that pays homage—of all things—to the humble washing machine.

A Best of NeoCon Gold winner in the sustainability category, Tumble, designed by Union Design, is a collection of tables that contains the very imprint of the circular swooshing of washing machines, a phenomena that is not only seen and heard but also felt.

We instinctively sense the homage in Tumble’s aesthetic: The intersecting wood that creates the base is cleverly excised in the form of a perfect circle, “taking inspiration from the universal tumble-dry laundry symbol to add a playful, lighthearted touch to the design.”

The design is not only lighthearted but lightweight, one quality contributing to its environmental credentials, thought certainly not the only. Tumble’s top, which evokes the subtle color gradients of a favorite pair of bluejeans, is made from recaptured textile waste.

KFI Studios says that the collection owes a dept to upcycled clothing. The figurative nature of the comparison thus becomes quite literal—the tables not only look like, but also are actually made of, the proverbial “something more comfortable.”

Tumble is available as both side and coffee table. The base is FSC-certified ash veneer with a slotted feature that enables flat-pack shipping. The two tables may be nested for group arrangements.
