Integrated Lighting with Purpose

Integrated Lighting with Purpose

In a sea of single-purpose floor lamps, the Overfly PT by Olev offers a more generous gesture. Designed by Marc Sadler, this sculptural LED fixture pairs ambient lighting with a built-in walnut perch—delivering integrated lighting without adding clutter.

Its silhouette echoes the natural world: a slender, trunk-like stem topped with a circular uplight and a branching arm that doubles as a side table. The disc-shaped diffuser provides soft, indirect light, while the cantilevered walnut surface offers just enough room for a book, drink, or device. With finish options ranging from matte black to warm brass, the piece adapts easily to hospitality lounges, workplace nooks, and amenity spaces.

Made of aluminum, the frame features refined cross-etched detailing—subtle enough to let the form lead, but present enough to reward a second glance. The wood element adds warmth and utility, while the architectural LED lighting stays calm and glare-free.

Designers interested in integrated lighting solutions that marry functionality with form will find a kindred spirit in Overfly PT. Like Julie Lansom’s Straw Lamps, it honors craft and materiality, though Overfly leans into structure and utility. Both bridge decorative and architectural lighting.

Overfly PT isn’t just a floor lamp. It’s a seamless, sculptural lighting element—part fixture, part furniture.
