Luminous Shells for Sculptural Lighting

Luminous Shells for Sculptural Lighting

Gaspare Asaro’s Perla and Shell fixtures show how sculptural lighting can shape a space. Made in Italy, they pair fluid metal forms with glowing glass—part ocean relic, part modernist jewel.

Perla curves in brass or copper, holding a Sfera globe handblown in Tuscany. The softened asymmetry tempers the shine, making it work as well in a boutique lounge as in a dramatic hotel corridor. Shell takes a bolder approach. Three Murano glass orbs rest in a molten brass plate, turning the fixture into both artwork and light source.

Asaro excels at mixing metals. Satin and polished finishes catch and reflect light differently, creating a layered shimmer that shifts as you move. This dynamic quality gives sculptural lighting more impact—essential in high-traffic, high-visibility spaces.

Customization is standard. Choose from multiple finishes and glass options. Lead times average 10–12 weeks. Milan and Florence artisans craft each piece to order, balancing craft, character, and commercial needs. The result: fixtures that perform and stand out.

Like the candy-colored pendant, Perla and Shell prove lighting can be transformative. One luminous surface changes the whole atmosphere.
