Artisan Glass Lighting in Motion

Artisan Glass Lighting in Motion

At once weightless and commanding, Cloud Pencil by Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert redefines artisan glass lighting. Each pendant is freehand-blown using the centuries-old Venetian incalmo technique, where two molten hues merge into a seamless, fluid whole. The result feels less manufactured than breathed into being.

The glass captures light like liquid, amber, honey, and smoke shifting across its curving surface. Suspended in clusters, the forms seem to float midair, evoking both movement and stillness. It’s sculpture that glows from within, balancing precision and spontaneity in a single suspended gesture.

Pieces like these echo the quiet drama of design seen in Cloud Form Cast in Gold, offering a similar reverence for material and craft. Wintrebert’s approach elevates glasswork from decorative to elemental, an exploration of transparency, color, and gravity that turns illumination into art.
