Material Alchemy in Motion
Lucas Recchia’s Mosai Side Tables in cast bronze and fused glass reveal how materials can hold both memory and motion. Each version reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of material alchemy and the dialogue between solidity and light.
The glass editions shift with the day, scattering color and shadow across nearby surfaces. The bronze, dense and tactile, catches light differently, absorbing rather than refracting it. Together they create a quiet study in contrast, showing how form and finish can change the mood of a space.
Recchia’s work invites designers to specify with emotion as much as structure. His tables anchor a room yet feel alive within it, offering a refined expression of material alchemy in contemporary furniture. For more on the art of layered texture, see Mosaic Landscapes: Tabletop Horizons.
