Maison&Objet 2026: Monochromatic Design in Borgona
Borgona is a color, but it behaves like a system. At Maison&Objet 2026, Uniqka gives it full spatial control, tucked into Hall 1, Stand F58, where the installation reads less like a debut and more like a deliberate exercise in monochromatic design.
The hue sits between wine and oxblood, saturated without tipping heavy. It sharpens edges and quiets hierarchy. Tables, benches, mirrors, and pendants share a single register, letting texture and contour do the talking. Scalloped surfaces introduce rhythm. The lighting softens the field without breaking the color story.
What works is the lack of preciousness. This is monochromatic design meant to be used. In shared interiors, the pieces would define space through presence alone, anchoring zones without partitions or graphics. The approach recalls the material-led restraint explored in Feathered in Leather, where surface becomes structure.
Seen together, the collection feels confident and resolved. Borgona proves that when restraint is applied consistently, it can still feel rich.
