KBIS 2026: Artistic Tile Breaks the Grid
Stone mosaic tile rarely feels this alive. With Varo, Liora, and Sculpta by Ali Budd, debuting at KBIS in collaboration with Artistic Tile, the collection steps away from strict repetition and into something more fluid.
Varo leads the exploration. Six interlocking panels form the system. Rotate them. Rearrange them. The composition shifts every time. What could have been a predictable waterjet mosaic becomes something looser and more instinctive. Veins wander. Curves interrupt clean lines. Negative space becomes part of the rhythm.
It reads less like a grid and more like a collage of stone. Calacatta meets travertine. Dark marble anchors pale fields. Some modules soften into organic arcs; others hold a firmer edge. Together, they create a surface that feels layered and dimensional without relying on color alone.
At KBIS 2026, where pattern and material are often pushed forward, this stone mosaic tile stands out for its restraint. It does not shout. It invites closer inspection. Each rotation reveals a slightly different story in the stone.
It is modular, yes. But it never feels mechanical. And that tension is exactly the appeal.
