Let the Chairs Do the Talking
Big Talk is lounge seating that leads with shape and color, then stays interesting the longer you look. Designed by Adam Goodrum for Blå Station, the circular form feels immediately legible, almost architectural, but the real character lives in the upholstery. Banded textiles wrap the seat and back in rhythmic color, giving the chair a graphic presence that reads clearly across a room. The collection lives here, quietly confident within Blå Station’s catalog: .
Released in 2021, Big Talk still feels current, largely because it avoids novelty. There’s no mechanism to explain and no visual trick to decode. Two circles define the silhouette, and color does the rest. Used as a single piece, the chair works like a strong object in space, grounding a lobby or reception area with minimal effort.
Where Big Talk really comes alive is in repetition. Grouped together, the chairs form a loose, undulating arrangement that encourages proximity without formality. It’s modular lounge seating that feels social, not prescriptive. Designers can build rhythm, movement, and conversation simply by placement.
The striped upholstery nods to textile sampling, those early moments of decision before finishes are locked. That sensibility connects naturally to the confident restraint seen in the Floger Lounge Chair.
Big Talk works best in shared interiors, places where color signals openness and waiting becomes lingering.
