Ara Turns the Washbasin Into a Monument

The Ara Collection by Inbani, designed by Studiopepe, designed by Studiopepe, debuted at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 with the quiet authority of an ancient bathhouse, redefining the sculptural bathroom collection. The pieces feel less like fixtures and more like artifacts. Washbasins set atop bush-hammered limestone legs. Oval mirrors floating in soft halos of light.

There’s a sacred geometry at play here.

The top-mounted basin rests on its stone supports like an offering. Surfaces alternate between matte coatings in lunar and dune tones, carved oak grain, and the pitted texture of hand-worked limestone. Smooth meets rough. Weight meets weightlessness.

For commercial bathroom design, this collection rewrites the brief. Picture it in a wellness spa, a boutique hotel suite, or the powder room of a members-only club. Anywhere the ritual of washing deserves its own architecture.

Studiopepe understands that water, given the right stage, becomes ceremony. Ara extends the matte bathroom palette we’ve been tracking into something more elemental, where stone and shadow do the heavy lifting.
