Lazy Chair, Now Weatherproof

Lazy Chair, Now Weatherproof

Lazy Chair started life indoors. For 2026, Paola Lenti and Monica Förster Design Studio have carried the chaise longue outside, keeping the silhouette and swapping in materials built for weather.

The seat is a long, open cradle of hand-woven cord. It lifts at the head, dips at the foot and gives under the body like a hammock with better posture. A shaggy seat pad is simply laid on top.

The pad covers only part of the seat. Cord stays visible along the edges, so the weave reads as the point rather than the support. Below, a slim wooden base keeps the whole thing light on its feet.

That openness makes this outdoor chaise longue easy to picture beyond the backyard. Resort pool decks. Hotel terraces. A quiet reading nook in a members’ club. An indoor version shares the same design, so a lobby lounge and the patio beyond it can speak the same language.

It belongs alongside other stitched, sun-ready pieces on 3rings. Photographed in magenta flecked with orange, it also makes a strong case against beige.
