Marais Takes the Floor
Artaic’s Marais is available in Sintered Glass for the first time, which rates it for commercial floors. The Foundation Collection pattern was inspired by Parisian floors, so this is less a move than a homecoming.
The pattern is a lattice of soft ovals built from tiny squares. Dark knots mark every intersection. It reads like a café floor that has been swept every morning for a hundred years.
Sintered Glass is made from 100% post-consumer recycled content, including car windshield glass. Its high DCOF slip-resistance rating means this mosaic tile flooring can go into restrooms, corridors, and other high-traffic spaces, not just backsplashes.
Color is where it gets useful. Marais comes in five colorways, so one pattern can run from an entry wall onto the floor beneath it, or tie together a string of properties while each gets its own palette. Black Tie keeps it formal. Cobalt turns the dining room into the destination.
It’s the same instinct behind Anderson Tuftex’s newest wool carpets: let the floor carry the room.
Marais ships by the square foot from Artaic’s Boston warehouse in as little as two weeks. The pattern is old. The glass is recycled. The mosaic floor is new.
